Prasad began his professional journey as a labour contractor, following his father’s guidance. His early career included associations with major infrastructure and engineering firms such as Larsen & Toubro, JMC Projects, Gammon India, Essar Group, and Reliance Industries.
Working across states including Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, he gained firsthand exposure to India’s labour ecosystem. This phase provided more than professional growth—it offered insight into a persistent imbalance: regions rich in manpower yet lacking localized employment structures.
Turning Observation into Opportunity
In 2009, Prasad transitioned from contractor to entrepreneur, driven by a clear purpose. Witnessing the migration of rural youth and the financial strain on farming communities, he sought to create opportunities closer to their source.
His approach focused on organizing local contractors and establishing sustainable employment ecosystems within rural and semi-urban regions.
This vision led to the formation of the Challa Group, a diversified enterprise spanning industrial development, agro-processing, and entertainment.
