His journey is a blend of technical precision and business wisdom. With a background in mechanical engineering, Jeevan has built a team of nearly five hundred professionals dedicated to environmental services. Since 2015, Genex has become a household name for residential apartments, malls, and hotels that want to move beyond simple Water & wastewater management. From the installation of advanced sewage treatment plants to the careful maintenance of water treatment facilities, Jeevan has ensured that thousands of people have access to clean, recycled water every single day. “Water & wastewater management is not just about the pipes and the pumps we install. It is about the legacy we leave for the next generation. When we bring people together to create better policies for water, we are protecting the very foundation of our future. Our work is a quiet promise; that we can grow our cities without exhausting the earth.” 

Under his guidance, Genex does more than provide a service; it acts as a bridge between technology and policy. Jeevan works closely with major service providers to shape how water is used and how wastewater is reused in the Greater Bengaluru Area and beyond. He believes that every drop saved in a commercial mall or a luxury hotel is a victory for the planet. By focusing on the intersection of engineering and environmental care, he has turned a technical necessity into a mission of service that touches the lives of everyone in the community. 

A Foundation in the Field 

Jeevan comes from a very humble technical background, beginning his career as a Service Engineer at Ion Exchange. He spent almost a decade on the ground, working inside plants, fixing systems, and understanding why they fail. During those years, he witnessed firsthand how critical clean water is for community health and urban growth. This time in the field taught him a lesson that shaped his entire career: the wastewater industry is not truly about machines, but about people. He realized that the work is about creating sustainable systems that ensure future generations continue to have access to water, our most vital resource. 

The Responsibility of Engineering 

Very early in his journey, Jeevan realized something profound: the industry demands deep responsibility, not just engineering. His motivation came from a simple but powerful belief that if water is managed responsibly, it shapes better cities, better industries, and a better future. This purpose has stayed with him for twenty-four years. It continues to drive every decision he makes today, from the day he started Genex to his work in building EnviRObotics. 

Engineering with Logic and Precision 

Mechanical engineering initially attracted Jeevan because it provided a framework to solve real-world problems using logic, precision and innovation. This field gave him a specific mindset: the belief that every problem has a root cause, every failure follows a pattern, and every system can be optimized through deep understanding. However, when he entered the water and wastewater sector, he discovered a deeper layer of complexity. He found that machines behave differently when they interact with nature, water chemistry, climate, and human use. 

Every pump, blower, membrane, and pipeline operates uniquely under real-world conditions. This unpredictability transformed engineering from a technical task into a personal passion for Jeevan. While mechanical engineering provided his foundation, wastewater engineering gave him his purpose. Over time, he realized that managing wastewater is more than just a technical job; it is a form of environmental protection, a community service, and a national responsibility. 

Innovation Rooted in Problem Solving 

With over twenty-four years in the industry, Jeevan believes that meaningful innovation is not about simply adding more technology. Instead, it is about solving the right problems. To him, true innovation must strengthen sustainability at every step by lowering operational costs, improving water quality, and automating the process  to manage systems more efficiently. 

In 2015, Jeevan identified a critical flaw in the existing systems: many Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) operated only to satisfy regulations, lacking the efficiency or transparency needed for genuine water recycling. He saw that Operation and Maintenance—the very backbone of the industry—was being neglected. Plants were not failing because of their design, but due to poor operations, a lack of training, and an absence of responsibility. 

The Birth of Genex and a Leadership Shift 

This realization led to the birth of Genex Utility Management Private Limited. Starting this venture required Jeevan to undergo a major shift in his own mindset. He had to evolve from an engineer into a vision-oriented leader who could foresee problems before they occurred. “Leadership is not about giving orders; it is about building teams, systems, and long-term solutions. When we shift our focus from the machine to the person operating it, we create a culture of responsibility that protects our resources for the future.” 

This turning point taught him that true leadership involves creating the structures that allow both people and technology to succeed together. By focusing on the neglected areas of maintenance and training, he has turned Genex into a company that prioritizes long-term environmental health over short-term regulatory compliance. 

Technical Excellence as a Commercial Strategy 

To drive both innovation and profitable growth within Genex, Jeevan balances technical expertise with a sharp commercial strategy. He is guided by the principle that a company focused solely on profit is ultimately unsuccessful. At the heart of Genex is a commitment to technical excellence; Jeevan believes that when the engineering is sound, commercial growth follows naturally. His strategy is simple: solve real problems, deliver honest work, and let the quality of the results speak for itself. 

He has never sought growth through shortcuts. Instead, Genex has built its reputation on trust, consistent performance, and results. This mindset led to the creation of EnviRObotics, a division dedicated to remote operations, robotic tank cleaning (under process), and automated workflows. These innovations turn high-risk, unpredictable tasks into safe, efficient, and consistent processes. 

This vision is already a reality. At the Brigade World Trade Centre – Annexe in Bengaluru, Jeevan has successfully implemented remote operations for wastewater treatment. This milestone enables centralized monitoring and intelligent plant management with minimal on-site intervention, proving that digital integration can transform traditional facilities into smart, responsive systems. He is now preparing to redefine the market with next-generation solutions that monitor and operate plants autonomously, reducing the heavy dependency on on-site labor. 

Digitally Enabled Sustainability and Asset Management 

The most transformative shift across Jeevan’s projects has been the move toward unmanned, digitally enabled operation of water and wastewater infrastructure. This transition is steered by a clear set of values: purpose, integrity, and responsible innovation. He reimagined plant operations by integrating IoT sensors and artificial intelligence to improve safety and reliability. Remote operations minimize human exposure to hazardous environments and eliminate the variability found in manual processes. 

Sustainability is further strengthened through the full digitization of asset management. Every critical component—from pumps and blowers to membranes—is monitored through digital platforms providing real-time data and predictive maintenance insights. This data-driven approach reduces downtime and extends the life of the equipment. Furthermore, the integration of Jet Blower technology has delivered substantial reductions in power consumption. When paired with automated control logic, these blowers become integral enablers of low-energy treatment.

What makes this approach truly transformative is that it is holistic. Remote operations, digitized asset management, and energy-efficient technologies work together as a single, unified solution rather than isolated upgrades. The result is infrastructure that is safer to operate, easier to manage, and fundamentally more sustainable. Through this integrated model, Jeevan and EnviRObotics are moving the industry toward intelligent, resilient systems that truly serve both people and the planet.

When building his teams, the first thing Jeevan looks for is passion. He believes that while technical skills can be trained, passion is something that cannot be taught. He communicates direction rather than just urgency. When introducing major shifts—such as investing in MBR technology during a time of widespread skepticism—he focuses on the long-term vision. He helps his teams understand how these changes solve persistent problems and contribute to a lasting legacy. When the purpose is clear, he finds that commitment follows naturally. 

Furthermore, he believes leadership must be visible and participatory. He never asks his team to do something he is unwilling to do himself. Whether it is stepping onto a site during a technical failure or personally handling a critical customer escalation, he stays involved until a solution is reached. He believes that credibility is built through action and that trust is the most powerful catalyst for change within any organization.

A defining moment in his career was the decision to invest deeply in MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) technology when the market was moving away from it. While many competitors claimed the technology ‘didn’t work,’ Jeevan believed the opposite. He trained his teams, studied global best practices, and refined operational protocols. Eventually, the results became so consistent that clients began approaching Genex specifically for MBR projects. This move expanded their market reach and reshaped the company’s brand identity as a specialist in the field. 

Building on this success, his vision for the coming years is to take wastewater treatment to the next frontier: remote operations and the full digitization of assets. He intends to lead this innovation in India, ushering in an era where plants are optimized and operated remotely. This shift aims to set a new benchmark for efficient, transparent, and sustainable treatment systems across the country. 

A Vision for the Circular Water Economy 

In the face of global climate challenges, Jeevan believes the coming decade will be defined by organizations that can seamlessly blend automation, robotics, and data-driven operations. He envisions a future where circular water reuse is built into ultra-efficient treatment systems, transforming wastewater from a liability into a valuable, recoverable resource. He sees cities and industries increasingly relying on compact, intelligent solutions that use IoT and AI to deliver consistent performance with minimal human intervention. 

Jeevan predicts that the next generation of sewage treatment plants will be unmanned, inherently safer, and fully automated. These facilities will be deeply connected through digital platforms that allow for remote monitoring, predictive control, and transparent compliance. This is not a distant dream for him; it is the reality he is actively building through Genex and EnviRObotics to redefine how water and wastewater infrastructure is designed and sustained. 

Innovation Beyond Wastewater: The Rain Detection System 

Expanding this vision of intelligent sensing, EnviRObotics has introduced an IoT sensor-based Rain Detection System. This technology provides real-time rainfall alerts and predictive weather intelligence. The system is currently being offered to the BigBasket dark store network across India to help identify local weather conditions in real time. This data-driven approach supports better operational planning and ensures that delivery partners working during adverse weather are appropriately compensated, promoting both efficiency and fairness for the workforce. 

A Legacy of Autonomous Engineering 

Reflecting on his journey, the legacy Jeevan hopes to leave behind is not just a list of completed projects, but an era where wastewater treatment itself has evolved. He wants the next generation of mechanical engineers and industry leaders to inherit a field that is intelligent, autonomous, and transparent.
